Spring in Covent Garden

From theatre to live music, explore what's on in Covent Garden during the spring season.

With its winding back streets and central buzzing Piazza, Covent Garden is a neighbourhood brimming with history and stories to tell.

If you should find yourself in the area – perhaps before or after a visit to The Delaunay – there’s much to see and do in Covent Garden and the surrounding areas this summer.

A little culture

Awash with some of the city’s enduring cultural institutions, such as the Royal Opera House, which is less than five minutes’ walk away from The Delaunay, or our partners at Donmar Warehouse – there are many places to get your culture fix. Other favourites include The National Theatre, with upcoming productions including ‘The Motive and the Cue’ and ‘Dixon and Daughters’; and Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (The Playhouse Theatre), one of the most successful musicals of all time.

We’re also proud to partner with some neighbouring theatres to offer packages for dinner here at The Delaunay and tickets to a show.

While just around the corner on the Strand, lies the world-famous Somerset House and The Courtauld Gallery – both of which have a spring calendar, showcasing some of the world’s leading talents. From Édouard Manet, at The Courtauld to the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition 2023; a celebration of photography in all its varied brilliance. For those with an interest in history, walking tours of Somerset House are also on offer this spring.

Take a stroll

Just minutes from The Delaunay lies the Strand and the banks of the Thames just beyond. An ideal spring afternoon can be had strolling along the river by Embankment, taking in some of the city’s most famous sights – from the London Eye to Westminster – and back up into the bustling streets of Covent Garden.

If you’re planning to visit in May, you will be able to join The King’s coronation celebrations, which take place from 6th to 8th May and promise to be extraordinary. Covent Garden’s iconic Market Building will be adorned with union jacks, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Something a little different

Enjoy the Peter Rabbitℱ Easter immersive guided adventure as he hops over several locations across Covent Garden. Through a magical mix of live performance and puppetry, the world of Beatrix Potter will come alive this Easter as you help Beatrix on a mission to rescue Jemima Puddle-Duck from the clutches of Mr. McGregor.

Easter at The Delaunay

At The Delaunay, we have also prepared a special menu for the occasion. Guests can enjoy dishes such as Chargrilled Spring Lamb Cutlets with sautéed wild garlic and Jersey Royal potatoes, as well as a Hot Cross Bun Sandwich served with Kirsch ice cream and cherry compote.
