Paul Smith on The Delaunay: “A Great Little Place I Know…”

In an exclusive video for Condé Nast Traveller, the iconic British fashion designer, Paul Smith, introduces The Delaunay as his long-time favourite café-restaurant at which to enjoy breakfast whenever he’s working in London.

Paul Smith is one of Britain’s foremost fashion designers, renowned for his creative aesthetic, combining tradition and modernity with a dry British sense of humour.

Now a household name, Paul Smith opened his first London shop in Covent Garden in 1979, back when the area “was sort of a wilderness really”. Today, his Covent Garden office is a base from which he works when in London and The Delaunay his café-restaurant of choice.

Here, a couple of times a week, the designer enjoys brown toast, butter, marmalade and a cappuccino to clear his head before starting the day. In this video, at the table he always sits, he shares his thoughts on why he finds The Delaunay such a special place…
