The Perfect Pre- or Post-Theatre Meal
It is often difficult to fit in both dinner and the theatre without the evening becoming too long. Especially challenging is enjoying a pre-theatre bite to eat without ending up as the last people to arrive, apologising in hushed tones as you fumble to find your seats in the dark during the opening song… With this in mind and with so many theatres on our doorstep, we duly introduced our ‘Menu Rapide’ – the perfect meal for those short of time theatre-goers.
Not only does The Delaunay find itself on the corner of historic Aldwych and Drury Lane, but in the very heart of London’s Theatreland itself. Just opposite is The Aldwych, currently captivating audiences with The Tina Turner Musical; The Novello, a hop and a skip down the road, continues to enchant audiences with the much-loved Mama Mia, and The Peacock Theatre, The Drury Lane Theatre Royal, The Duchess, The Lyceum, The Royal Opera House and many more are all within a 5-minute stroll of our front door.
And so, with such a plethora of productions to choose from, we felt it only right to provide a menu ideally suited to those wishing to enjoy a quick bite before or after a matinee or indeed an evening show.
With an extensive à la carte menu, The Delaunay is well versed in ensuring there is something to suit all times frames, but for the hurried theatre-goer, the Menu Rapide is sure to hit the spot.
True to its name and for just £17.75, the set menu includes a classic Tarte Flambée with a mixed leaf salad, a glass of wine or beer and tea or coffee.
With table bookings taken up to 10.30pm Monday – Saturday and up to 5pm on Sundays, it is not just well-suited to pre-theatre performances, but equally welcome to those after a light bite at the end of the night.
