Now showing at The Courtauld Gallery, The Griffin Catalyst Exhibition: Wayne Thiebaud. American Still Life is the first UK museum exhibition dedicated to one of America’s most original 20th-century artists.
Working for much of his life in California, Thiebaud became known for his vibrant, richly painted still-lifes – from diner counters and deli displays to gumball machines and glossy cream cakes.
Celebrating the beauty of everyday objects, Thiebaud’s joyful work transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary – a perfect complement to an afternoon of indulgence at The Delaunay.
